Vest!
The pleated vest is finished! It's actually been done for a few days, but today I finally got David to take pictures of me wearing it *and* I have a free minute to blog. Crazy!
Pattern: Blue Sky Alpaca's Pleated Vest
Yarn: Cascade Eco Wool in brown (it only took 1 skein!)
Needles: size 10 and 8
Mods: None, except I used a bulky wool instead of doubled sport weight as the pattern calls for. Also, my gauge was a little off so I knit the largest size, but it's more of a 36" bust after blocking. It's a bit snug now, but normally I'm not quite so busty so it should be fine once I'm no longer breast feeding.
When I bought the yarn, I had only glanced at the yardage requirements and gauge and hadn't realized that I needed only half of what was required because the original calls for yarn to be doubled. Finding myself with an extra skein of Eco Wool, I did what I had to and bought 5 more skeins in brown and deep red for my next project: Elizabeth Zimmermann's April Mystery Blanket from the Knitter's Almanac. I'm only getting about 1 hour of knitting time per day right now so knitting bulky weight is perfect as I have a lot more to show for my hour's work.
Oh, and here's a gratuitous baby shot. Enjoy!
